Personality on a Page: Archive

There’s a trainer on the roof below my kitchen window. I don’t know how long it’s been there - it was there when I moved in, but that was only two months ago.

I wonder, while I’m doing the washing up, whether anyone knows it’s there other than me. And how it got up there in the first place. Where’s its pair? Is someone looking for it?

And will anyone ever get it down?

My Varied Career

I’ve had a lot of jobs…

At various times of my life I’ve been an office clerk; I’ve been a photographer on a holiday resort; I’ve taught English in Japan; I’ve worked in a photo shop, a sports shop and a toy shop; I’ve been a gym instructor, a pasty packer, a DJ and a minibus driver.

I’ve worked for a council, a school, a charity, a factory, and a couple of huge international organisations; I’ve been one of two, one of twenty and one of 10000.

I’ve given advice on lots of things: cameras, tennis rackets, tv licences, post codes, sponsoring dogs, managing information, baby bottles, board games, school uniforms and databases.

I’ve never been interested in having a job for life - I’m only interested in having a life.
